Stuffed Gourmet Trailers RPA Franchise Model

First of all - this is no ordinary franchise model - this is a Revenue Participation Agreement (RPA) Franchise Model.

This means we fund ALL the equity to get the trailer built and equipped.

And we get repaid as a percentage of your revenues - usually around 12.5 - 15% until you have repaid the agreed amount. This does mean that there will be an expected minimum revenue per annum and minimum number of event working days per year - usually around 48.

But as soon as you have repaid the agreement from the revenues you have earned - the trailer is yours. For ever. To keep. To own.

Too good to be true? This is part of our social sustainability ethos - address inherited poverty and support marginalised individuals. Bad credit should never rule you out from starting over. Legally it is our trailer until the "equity" is repaid through the RPA. We have a JV with The Big Issue - delivering positive social structural and systemic change is core to our purpose.

Our RPA franchise model offers almost zero startup costs and built-in brand recognition for you, the franchisee, but carries risks like shared brand damage, strict operational limitations, and high location dependency.

So - we offer two models:

One is linked to our brand - Stuffed Gourmet Trailers - where we will mentor you, maintain the trailer, source a minimum number of events for you per annum and help you get to full ownership usually within 3-5 years.

The other is a mentoring and trailer maintenance model - and you can use your own brand and find and source all your own events and menus. We still do spot checks though!

Benefits for the Franchisee

You - the operator

  • Lower Costs: There is a maximum £5,000 deposit to get off the ground and that is it. We finance the purchase and kit out of the street food trailer - be it an iconic American Airstream or a charming Citroen HY van.
  • Brand Recognition: Customers already know and trust the menu, logo, and food quality. And irrespective of whether you go alone or with us, we will help you adapt or invent your trailer type: Be a bar - Be allergen free - Be an all day breakfast - Be hot puddings - Be whatever works to optimise your future.
  • Proven Systems: You receive ready-made recipes, operational guidelines, and supply chain setups - this is not an easy business - health and safety, food hygiene, insurance - there is a lot to master. You have to work hard. But it will be your business.
  • Mobility: You can drive the trailer to high-traffic events, festivals, or different city spots. We generally can store them for you when they are not working.
  • Local Expertise: We have learnt that franchisees know their local markets, city rules, and prime event locations better than a remote headquarters.

Risks for the Franchisee

The operator

  • Strict Rules: If you use our brand then you must follow our exact corporate rules on ingredients, pricing, and menu items with little room for creativity without prior agreement.
  • Fees: You must pay the revenue participation fees - regardless of your profit.
  • Location Struggles: Finding legal parking spots or profitable event permits can be difficult and competitive. We will help but it is your business.
  • Shared Reputation: If another franchise location fails inspections or serves bad food, your local customers may avoid your trailer too. We will do our best with training and spot checks to make sure this never happens.
  • Quality Control: It is important that we support you to monitor food safety, service speed, and trailer cleanliness - we try to help you.
  • It is your business - we can only guide you with staff and bookkeeping and tax compliance.
  • If you fail to meet the minimum repayments per annum we will take back the trailer. We have never had to do that and we do not ever want to!

Simply put if you work an average of 88 event days per year, with revenues of around £4,000 per day, you will generally earn over £140k per year before salaries and after all normal costs of ingredients, packaging, power, logistics, that is assuming these are public events where you pay the highest level of site fees - private events will enable you to earn even more! And the trailer is yours in 5 years or less!

Note we always retain the right to say no.
